FMC00.230B shows a more structured representation of the inflowing of spiritual influences from the astral world, lower spirit world and higher spirit world, called imaginations, inspirations, intuitions into the human being.
Parts of these are reflected and enter our conscious awareness, making up the contemporary waking consciousness and soul experience of thinking, feeling and willing. The majority however flows into the human organism and the three subsystems of Man as a threefold being. Hence the process of perception underlying conscious awareness is a filter system, holding back part of the spiritual streams: we sense-perceive only the part of the spiritual streams that we hold back by our bodily structure, the rest just streams into our body.
Another description: "it is only by the thought being reflected, being thrown back and not entering the brain, that consciousness arises." In contrast to thinking, willing is an activity of the soul which does enter the body ('deeper') but it is thrown back by the (glandular) abdominal nervous system in the same way as the thought is thrown back by the brain.
