Schema FMC00.583: shows to versions of the process of stratification that has led to the development of the current four kingdoms of nature in evolution. In each planetary stage of evolution, there is a segment of laggers that do not attain the full developmental potential or goal. This gives rise to, if one simplifies, a higher and lower kingdom, depending on whether the structural bodily principle (such as etheric, or astral) has been incorporated or not. This way, in each cycle a kingdom is pushed up - or down - by 'half'. Given the conditions in each planetary stage are vastly different (see left below), one should not imagine or reason about kingdoms or beings in their current form. On Old Saturn, Man was a physical seed in warmth. Furthermore, the schematics dramatically simplify, as Conditions of Life (CoL) and Form (CoF) are not shown.

On Earth's mineral CoL and physical CoF, the five epochs show (upper right) a recapitulation of all that preceeded, which ultimately, after this long evolutionary pathway, results in the current physical kingdoms of nature we know. The last upper branch is the one whereby Man waits last for the conditions to be right to incorporate the fourth structural bodily principle of the human 'I'. The souls that 'descended' earlier into bodies and under conditions that didn't allow to incorporate the human I resulted in the various animal forms (see Schema FMC00.210 and variants), the apes were last and hence closest to the human being. The animals were not able to separate from the group souls through the process of individuation as mankind.

By the end of Earth evolution, current humanity will also split and divide into an upper and lower human kingdom, based on moral and spiritual maturity, and make up two kingdoms on the next planetary stage of evolution Future Jupiter.

Note 1 - Importance of Schema FMC00.583 for study of spiritual science

For the earnest student of spiritual science, this is a very important Schema to develop a personal imagination of, reading the descriptions such as the evolution of Man and the animal and plant kingdoms in the previous epochs on Earth, and as well on Old Moon. The respective topic pages provide the descriptions for such study.

This is important because one thereby learns how to use Schemas in general. They represent a pointer to an 'idea', but they are a hugely simplified version and barely a very high-level conceptual sketch of the idea. It is so important that one 'fills' the Schema with meaning in one's soul, actively, instead of passively looking at it or just using the picture.

This schema is an excellent example for this 'training', because with the study suggested above, one realizes how there is metamorphosis continuously, and how the complexity is ever-growing but also morphing all the time.

Another schema to assist in such contemplation as an example, is Schema FMC00.574. The goal is that all these are integrated in our soul work, beyond intellectual grasp they start to form 'ideas' in our imaginative mind.

So much, that one realizes that our intellectual thinking, that needs concepts categories definitions in order to reason, is nothing but an abstraction of a fluid reality .. and we are just trying to get a bit of a grasp to try and describe it a bit with our current tools, the faculty of thought and language as we have today.

The schema has other benefits:

• for example the branching structure allows one to contemplate why Rudolf Steiner spoke of 16 categories of animals, and how that could be related to the CoC, CoL and CoF. See reference quote: Animal kingdom#1909-05-17-GA104A.
• Another angle of perspective is that as a human being, studying all this, one also realizes one is in the midst of this, part of this flow, somewhere. And that each individual with free choice and consciousness and human will, will decide their own future. This is what was described with Schema FMC00.422A and the top of the page description on Contemporary worldview war. That is why the last sentence was added as a 'teaser' to the Schema description text.
