FMC00.531A is a variant of Schema FMC00.531 that illustrates additionally how Man is a Personality living a normal mundane earthly life in this incarnation, but also a spiritual Individuality and a carrier of impulses, as explained on Impulses from waves of reincarnating souls.
A life typically contains a wealth and complex mix of many karmic balances to be settled in the overall ‘accounting system’ of all that happened with other souls in all previous lives. Rudolf Steiner mentions that not all lives are as important in the grand scheme of (and contribution to) humanity; stating that some are "less important" in having '"little significance for the world outside" (1924-06-01-GA240, 1924-07-18-GA240, 1924-08-24-GA240). This is because some lives have an agenda more filled with interpersonal matters, whereas in others the incarnation is more dedicated to act as a carrier of a larger impulse.
Through certain events in life, an important 'package' of such impulse, represented in this Schema by 'H', may rise to the fore in one's life, and awaken a person to this agenda and karmic background. For more on this, see Q00.006 - spiritual events at various points in life.
An explicit example is given by Rudolf Steiner in 1924-08-08-GA237 with the phrasing "so that the soul may be taken hold of by the mission of anthroposophy". That important lecture is to be read in full for context.
Depending on spiritual maturity of the person, this awakening of the consciousness soul may include Past life memories and other experiences and special states of consciousness. See also related exploration with Karma exercises on overview Schema FMC00.242.
